"How many NZUs, if any, are forecast to be sold at auction in financial year 2025/26?"
Reply: The Budget Economic and Fiscal Update 2026 forecasts that no Emissions Trading Scheme units would be sold by the Crown in the 2025/26 financial year. Whenever Emission Trading Scheme units are soId by the Crown, an equal and corresponding liability is recognised in the Crown’s account that offsets the cash generated by the sale, making this activity balance sheet neutral. "In relation to the answer given to Written Parliamentary Question 25163, does the Prime Minister's Office keep records of meetings that staff from the Prime Minister's Office attend without the Prime Minister?"
Reply: I do not believe it is in the public interest to have more than twenty staff go through their calendars to find meetings with 29 organisations over a 30 month period. This answers question 35480.

"What conservation land, if any, on Waiheke Island is included in the "bits and bobs" he referred to in Environment Select Committee on 18 June?"
Reply: The Government has always been firm that our iconic landscapes and the places that make New Zealand special will never be put at risk. But I was not clear enough about how the Conservation Amendment Bill (the Bill) would do that, so on 25 June I announced that the Government supports the removal of the land exchanges and disposals provisions from the Bill. This has since been communicated with the Environment Select Committee considering the Bill.
