The food system: plant-based public catering and vet costs

More plant-based food in schools, hospitals and public institutions, which the party argues would cut costs and improve nutrition — citing modelling that a shift to plant-rich diets could save the health system up to $22 billion in prevented chronic disease. Alongside it: clearer food labelling, fairer access to veterinary care as vet bills become unaffordable, and bereavement leave for the loss of an animal.
